My approach to a painting varies. Sometimes the work begins with an idea and often a thumbnail sketch. But quite often, after choosing colors I just begin to paint. As the shapes and colors begin to form they ‘talk’ to me. I see things in the paint and the composition evolves. With a life mantra of growth and change, the work has gone from traditional to abstract and often back again. It’s exciting surprising to see what happens. I’m very happy to have been accepted into five international and national shows in 2015 and also to have achieved signature status in the San Diego International Society Exhibits. An artist need not retire or ‘fade away’, but keep paint flowing and artist growing.
