Tom McMahon - Studio #8a

I discovered the art of segmented woodturning. As with any woodwork, segmented woodturning provides challenges with each step from conception to completion. After creating the design, one is presented with the challenge to put the plan together. From there one needs to figure out how to cut the individual pieces. Woodturning becomes good exercise for the brain and it makes you a student again as you begin to search out new techniques and processes to provide insight to use in future projects.

Trees are an amazing creation and provide us with so many benefits. Once a tree is harvested or dies, it lives on through woodworking allowing its beauty to be expressed in another form!

Many tales could be told if trees could talk.
