Pam Burns - Studio #7

I have always had the desire to create. From my Grandmothers to my grandchildren, my family have been an inspiration. About 30 years ago, as I raised my own children, I began watercolor classes offered through the City of Roseville. Those were taught by Patricia Abraham, a wonderful artist and one of the co-founders of Art Studio Trek. At that time, I never expected I would be showing my work let alone be part of this amazing group of artists!

Over the years I have shown on the Auburn Art Walk, Autumn Art Studio Tour (now known as the Placer Arts Studio Tour) Curtis Fest, Art Fiesta, Bold Expressions Juried Exhibition, Fe Gallery, Red Dot Gallery, Harris Center Gallery, Flower Farm, Expressions Exhibit and the Blue Line Gallery. This is my fourth year on the ArtStudioTrek tour.

I love to experiment with new mediums and this year I have an array of Acrylic Pours. I find this pouring method to be wonderful, in that you can only control so much. A lot happens on its own, therefore, you don't always come out with a winner. For me the challenge is in working with color and really thinking composition, all in a short time frame. Where I can take months working on a watercolor painting, I only have an hour or so to work with the initial pour.

I'm very proud to be part of this group and look forward to seeing friends, family and meeting all that come to my studio!
